Click to open then print form Where will I receive my practical training? Most of our trainee dental nurses work with dental practitioners in Newham, Tower Hamlets, City & Hackney, Camden and Islington, Westminster, Barking and Havering. The majority of our nurses are employed in general practice, but some are employed by the community dental service and in companies such as White-cross and Boots. General Dental Practices range from a single-handed practice to a large multi-site Organisation offering comprehensive services. Due to the reputation of our trainees, demand for placement with General Dental Practices continues to exceed supply. Successful students are almost guaranteed a job. NVQ in dental nursing is made up of a number of units. These are further broken down into elements which are completed during the course. All units have to be achieved before a whole award can be made, but there is the option of unit credit if the candidate can not achieve the whole award. You will undergo continuous assessment through out the training programme both at the Centre and at the Dental Practice. The results of your performance will be discussed with you. Regular meetings between the Project Manager, Dentist and Tutor will be held to discuss your progress and commitment to the course. Homework, class work and work placement reports will be used at these meetings. |
